Kamal has a proven track record as a business and technology innovator and has received numerous awards and global recognition for several innovative and disruptive projects. His career spans almost forty years in the fields of media, private equity/venture capital, health (public health and healthcare), finance, housing, energy, construction, and marketing. He has served in executive roles for multi-billion-dollar enterprises, both in the public and private sectors, and has served on the Boards of several non-profit, technology, and investment organizations.

Kamal is currently the Executive Chairman of HZO (www.hzo.com), an innovative electronics coating company based in Morrisville, NC. From April 2019 to September 2023, Kamal was the CEO of GCOM Software, a leading technology software, data analytics, and solutions company that primarily served the U.S. State and Local governments (now www.voyatek.com), focusing on the Tax and Finance, Criminal Justice/Public Safety, Licensing/Regulatory, and Health and Human Services sectors. During his tenure, GCOM’s revenue, profitability, and geographical footprint grew dramatically.

He previously served in a dual role as the Managing Director of Technology Investments and Chief Technology Officer of Inversora Agroindustrial Global (IAG, S.L.), a global conglomerate focusing on the production and distribution of wine, fruits, nuts, olive oil, and other agricultural products, among other businesses. In the Investments role, he oversaw all phases of private equity and venture capital investments, including post-acquisition management, in high-tech companies for IAG. As CTO, he was responsible for online business growth across the group by driving IT efficiencies, defining the overall online strategy of the Group, managing online monetization, leading online innovation, and supporting the creation of new online products and businesses.

Kamal was previously Chief Digital Officer for PRISA, the world’s largest Spanish-language media company, and Chief Information Officer for Health and Human Services for the City of New York during the Bloomberg Administration.

He is currently also the Chairman of the Board of Magine, a digital media company in Stockholm, Sweden. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Queens Community House (QCH), CGS Interactive, a member of the Strategic Committee of Evolution Well Services and AMP (both energy companies in Woodlands, TX), and a Board Director of Syzygy, a Houston, TX-based company focusing on decarbonization and the clean production of SAF, clean hydrogen, and other e-fuels.

Kamal also serves on the Advisory Board of SambaNova, a leading next-generation AI computing platform. He has previously served on executive advisory boards for Dell, IBM, Blue Coat, Symantec, and Hewlett Packard.

Since the tragic loss of his son, Ethan, in 2021 due to fentanyl poisoning, Kamal has set up a non-profit called PreClivity (www.preclivity.org) that is focused on significantly reducing fentanyl deaths across the U.S.
